Official statistics declare Bergolo, situated in the Upper Langhe to be the smallest village in the province of Cuneo and one of the smallest in Italy. The village is typical of the Langhe area and is located on the crest of a hill which overlooks the Bormida valley on one side and the Uzzone valley on the other.
The landscape and views are breath taking, embracing woods, meadows and hazelnut trees. The Chapel of S.Sebastiano is located on the highest point of the village and is believed to date back to the 12th century. The chapel displays the Romanesque architecture which is commonly found in the Langhe region.
The village has a post office, hotel and restaurant.
Levice, Cortemilia and the Pezzolo Valle Uzzone can all be reached on marked footpaths. The area is ideal for exploration by mountain bike or horseback. Bergolo has a small population of approximately 80 and is situated 650 metres above sea level
