Treiso is situated in the in the Langhe area of Piemonte and is 7 Km away from Alba. The town is strewn over hamlets and farms and is immersed in a landscape of vineyards and breath taking countryside.

The Municipality of Treiso originates from 1957 and was created from part of the Municipality of Barbaresco. It previously belonged to Alba.

Treiso locatedin the heart of Barbaresco is characterised by fine quality soil that produces a great DOCG (controlled and regulated origin) wine and others which include Barbera, Dolcetto, and Moscato.

The centre of the town is dominated by a large square which hosts a fine church and the local school. During the summer evenings the locals gather in this square to chat and frequent the local bar.

The town has a variety of small shops, several bars and five restaurants, one of which is noted in the Michelin Guide.

Treiso has a population of 770 and is situated 410 metres above sea level.
